I have had an idea in my head of the ideal maternity session.. for a while. This is specific to winter by the way, I have ideas for all 4 seasons and my studio too! Anyway, for winter, I envisioned snow on trees, with snow falling and about an inch or two on the ground. Kinda hoping for a lot:)
So last week, we got word of our “April Fools” snow storm. So I jumped on it:) I reached out to a couple clients who I knew were expecting and offered a complementary maternity shoot, totally last minute. The kicker, It was to take place on the side of a church parking lot in Litchfield, New Hampshire. Every day when I drop my daughter at school, I pass by an amazing field of.. weeds? I am not even sure what they are, but they are pretty. So Ashley, had availability and we met up at about noon time, right after the storm started.
I had my junior assistant, Harlowe with me. She is a fresh 4 years old, so kind of listens to directions. She handed Ashley dried flowers when it was time and held her dress when we needed help. She could not understand why the shoot was not about her.. since it typically is. Of course she had lots of questions.
Ashley has another 4 weeks to go before she gets to meet her little lady. I can not wait to meet her as well and do her newborn portraits!
If you are interested in doing Maternity Portraits or Newborn Portraiture, please contact me as soon as you can! If I get you on the books early, you never know what could be in store for you:)
