Amanda + Kyle {Boston Engagement Session}

Wow, it has been a while since I have posted. Fall and the holidays are super busy as I am sure you can image. I will share my fall, holidays, weddings, all the studio stuff soon, but first… a super fun Boston Engagement Session!

I am going to start with my email from Amanda after receiving her online gallery:

“I might have cried a little when I saw these… we love them so much!! Thank you for doing such an amazing job!” -Amanda

So here is how it went down:

I had never met Amanda + Kyle until 7:30 am, mid January in Boston, the North End to be exact. I knew it was them straight away because they had Tess, their little dog with them. We planned this session around the weather, the snow, and of course their baby Tess. We had to reschedule a few times due to the crazy cold spell we went through, then some snow storms that were a bit much. I love snow.. but very specific snow, like a couple inches, when it is still on the trees.. when it is fresh. So a foot does not work for an engagement shoot unless we are going sledding, snowboarding or skiing, then bring it on!

So we met for the first time at the Ice Skating rink in the North End, we talked for a moment, or maybe a bunch and then started taking photos. When photographing in the North end of Boston, I love to start with the Zakim Bridge in the background. The bridge is a gorgeous landmark in Boston. From there we head into the North End and if we are feeling courageous enough, we head down to the water front.

This whole session was just over an hour of our time. We chose 7:30 am so there would be less people out and the sun would be lower in the sky. The morning was honestly perfect. We stopped at Mike’s Pastries at the end, I had just watched a special on TV about how amazing the cannolis were, so we had to try it out!

I forgot to mention one thing.. Tess. Their baby Tess was a gem. I love including dogs in sessions, just because I realize they are usually a couples first baby. I mean if you can raise a puppy together, you can do anything together, right? She nailed the shoot. It might have been all about here at some points and you will see from the photos I will post below. Seriously, does it get any cuter? I love Boston Engagement Sessions!

Amanda and Kyle, Congratulations on your engagement!!! I am excited to shoot your wedding at The Bedford Village Inn, in Bedford, NH!

Here are a couple of my favorites from this session:
