One of my favorite things is when a client comes back with a second, third or fourth baby. I had the pleasure of photographing baby Milan’s big sister Eva when she was born, so I was thrilled to hear from Shilpa (their mom) when she found out she was expecting again.

Milan and his family came to my Manchester, New Hampshire studio from their home in Massachusetts. Not a super easy drive, but it worked out perfect. When they got there I immediately began to photograph Milan. It was important to have light and bright photos, so that is what I concentrated on.

Eva, almost two, was not sure sure about her baby brother. We tried our hardest to get a photo together, but it was not happening. So this is the thing, sometimes it just does not happen. Not a huge deal at all, we do what works.  I photograph real life:) What Eva, created or allowed to happen, was a portrait of her life, now. She was way behind her baby brother in a bucket.  Someday, when baby Milan is a bit older, we will get photos of the two of them together. Someday, Eva will laugh and wonder why she would not sit with her brother.

Clients often ask if I can do newborn photos in their houses or on location. I typically don’t, for a few reasons. First, my studio has amazing light. My windows are 10 feet high and face the North, which means the light is never direct and only changes slightly throughout the day, which is perfect.  My studio has a ton of props, blankets, wraps, buckets, you name it. Every client envisions something different for their newborn session, weather it be colors, backgrounds etc. I love having everything available. Now, there are situations that require me going to a house, including disabilities, adoptions out of state, etc. Just contact me and I would be happy to plan your newborn session with you:)
